Interior Decoration-lighting Key Aspect

June 22, 2010

Home is always a top priority and reflects a person’s personality. So we are very concerned about the area, so we should take atmost importance to see that well organized and well lit. If your lighting is not adequate then how ever you stay neat and the best purchases of furniture, your house will look dull and bland. Have seen that when it comes to decorating a new house or improvements that top priority always goes to furniture’s, curtains, sofa sets, pictures and other decorated items as well as lighting to take last priority. But should any other way, because lighting will make or reduce the beauty of your home. You tend to use your funds to other items and when the lighting comes you have less funds and you tend to compromise with it. But you must understand that it is the lighting that will brighten your home and add color to your house and your interior decor. It is unfortunate that the lighting is always neglected. To understand lighting you must understand some definitions like lux, color rendering, flux, energy efficiency, and efficacy. Flux: Flux means the light output given by the bare lamp. And units of Lumens. Lux: Lux can be defined as the light output or flux in a particular direction per unit area. Lux is a candlepower. Color rendering: Color rendering can be defined as your color compared with natural colors of sunlight. Under bright sunlight you get the perfect color. Energy Efficiency: energy now one of the most important day, the energy saved is energy produced. Thus, energy efficiency can be defined as with less energy being used or you get your watt maximum light output. That’s why you see (CFL’s Compact fluorescent lamps) T5 lamps on the market. Because the most talked about is energy efficiency. Day by day the cost of electricity increases and the energy saving is very important for all and every state. Let us study the case of your guest room. The living room is a place where guests come first, or where you sit with your children and other family members and watch your favorite TV Soap. So, you should understand the importance in your life. So you must be careful in placing the lightest. Your room lights should be seen not only in the corner of science, but also at the corner of artists. Why do I say this because if you only see in the corner of science, you put the formula for designing the lighting then you get the amount of light required, but your room is a place of importance, so also look in the eyes of an artist. Lights will differ according to mood. You might not always required bright light, but some times you may just need a spot light or reading light near your sofa. What I want to say is that lighting should not be viewed as a formula for putting and getting results? Lighting is different in different times and different moods. In drawing room one should use diffused lighting, some indirect lighting, some spot lighting with CFL or Miniature Halogen (MR16) or a mixture of both. Some table lamps for studying purpose and some general lighting. for all purposes. diffused lighting will not provide eye glare and smooth touch. This is used for general purposes. But you must be a party at home or you’ve got a special guest in addition to general lighting so you can also spot you turn on the lights or high lighters to high light some decorative pictures or statues. Put the lighters immediately, until the mild to high your ceiling and get indirect lighting. Suppose you have a dinner or cocktail party then the mood is different, that time you can put indirect lighting one or two spot lights to give a party or a relaxing atmosphere or ambience. Suppose you are in a romantic mood, and sitting with your wife you can create a romantic atmosphere by wearing jummes and one or two indirect lighting only to create a romantic atmosphere. You are not in a good mood you can use indirect lighters only. Or you want to learn then you can only have turned on the light table to learn. See why I say that lighting should not be seen only point of science, because lighting will change according to your needs or moods. Lights can not be longer this will interfere with or give glare if lighting is not adequate it will create a dull effect. Lighting also will differ in different places to provide a different atmosphere. To give the effect of warmth or welcome you can get the warm light of day. Like 2700 k (Kelvin) lamps, to give a cool effect or give assurance you can have a day of light 6500k (Kelvin) lamps cool. See the Light is a major subject of his own. LIGHT SHOULD NOT be taken lightly.

Renovations and Those Darn Trees!

June 22, 2010

Renovation planning can be very fun, but why do that just the right tree in the yard where your new extension should be? Yes, this is a problem when this happens, because quite expensive project to remove the tree, and none of you want to use precious ‘renovation budget’ on Because of the cost!, Many people think that trying to do the job themselves. Maybe there was a strange injury sustained, but worse than a minor accident to you is a big accident at home. You do not want to re ‘-building reno’ because your poplar tree went through the roof and landed in the carpet of your living room! Another problem that must be considered when planning to remove trees is-after effects. If you just get a chainsaw and cut down, many of the roots will obviously be left in the soil. Once these roots decay, you may have a hole after a few years that your house can subside into – then you will need more than reno Before discussion on how it was,! Maybe you can rethink your idea of renovation again. Does distance you may be able to work outside the other plans? If you choose this particular floor plan that requires the felling of trees for economic reasons, considering the removal of the tree itself could cost hundreds of dollars. (If you must use a professional – you will not!) Some home owners did not call a tree surgeon or a surveyor to inform them about possible dangers. This is not a good idea, because this project has the potential for injury, death or property damage! Your insurance will be one thing to check before you try anything; also check out insurance against damage to neighboring property. If you have already removed the front and touch your tree bit by bit and then down to the stump – now what? If you just want more sunlight, you can leave the stump, or make the feature. But in the case of a reno – the stump to get out too! At this point you may have to break down and call the arborist, or tree service to remove the stump. There is a possibility that your local hardware store will have a stump grinder for hire, then you can grind out alone. It’s very labor intensive and requires some know-how. You can also drill a hole in a tree, poured kerosene into the hole and let it soak a few weeks to go When you come to light stubble, (assuming you get permission from the Fire Department or wait until the ‘burn-week’) pour kerosene over big top before you turn it on and hold the hose nearby. Please note that this is not the route to choose light – kerosene is toxic to breathe and the land can still easily burn out if the oil has been absorbed into the ground soil. Most of the traditional method of stump removal is taking the time to let it rot, even with a “little help” from you. For example, you can drill holes into the stump and pouring chemicals into the hole, but you still have to wait months, maybe years. Chemicals can also affect the soil around the stump, so make sure you will learn what kind of effect will be on the ground. If the stump is very large, you could try removing it with a pick, a sharp spade, pruning saw and some friends built turns! You still have to deal with subsidence problems, but best to have a plan for it if the tree is located near the house. The easiest approach to this problem is to find an alternative route tree for your renovations that do not require removal of trees. However, if the tree had to come out, you better consult with a professional, check with your insurance, and always take the maximum security precautions.

June 22, 2010

skilled professional interior designers are trained in the use of feature lighting to create amazing results. In a four-part series that I call “bright Colour Me: Understanding the Light in Interior Design,” I draw on my experience in interior design community of London to explain this interesting topic. This third article talks about how to create a pattern using opaque materials. The second way to interior designers to create patterns involving surface-based light translucent, which reflect light back to the room. This process of pattern making more sophisticated and can refine to the effect that amazing interior design. Light description of how we understand the impact of surface and texture. For example, the “standard” technique is often seen in the residence of the London casting involves only gentle play of light on the wall. Brush a light fixture, causing the walls appear even, flat and two dimensional. Some of London’s top interior designers know that their clients wanted more drama and nuance of style. In such cases, the contents of lightwell placed very close to the wall and lure them down can be really surprising. By using this technique, an interior design consultant can change the tide before it became stylish designer soft spoken, as shave the surface and build a photon to form a solid optical patterns, including top-level arcs and dramatic texture. A sharper, more focused like a laser only makes more striking pattern – creating a view that is popular in many trendy London nightclub. The direct counterpoint to the interior design of this technique involves the use of near-offset uplighting. With this approach, the floor level of the filament causes the eyes to move up a vertical column of light that dance on the wall to form a pool of reflected light dapple the ceiling. London’s professional interior designers often work with color consultants to ensure that the results have practical relevance as well as aesthetic appeal. In particular, several new residence in London often has a low ceiling uncomfortable. Interior designers can use the approach lighting to draw attention to the vertical plane of the wall, thus balancing the-feel under siege from the low ceiling. Renovating and Maintenance of a House in France

June 22, 2010

Often times when I saw the first high expectations for a house in France, but after visits to chosen areas have been made and you have seen innumerable properties with inadequate facilities, your perspective changes. A large number of old stone houses on the market needed a job to put them in good condition has one left empty for years or just generally ignored. Many people who think buying a property in France has been considered to implement the restoration project to a certain extent. Clearly there are dangers in buying property in run-down condition but there are advantages if you follow the rules. And basic research And basic research in the beginning will pay dividends later. Make contact with not only the agent but also with architects, contractors and even Geometres or expertise (Surveyor) if necessary to obtain as much information as possible before your visit. Follow a few ‘simple and may be blindingly obvious basic rules: 0. Fix your budget and do not take something that is clearly going out of bounds. 0. Do not buy on impulse; better go back and see again the old. 0. Take notes and photographs as a reminder; one-hour processing in France too! 0. Ask to see their own power supply and that there is adequate supply. 0. Check the conditions, if any, of septique dent (septic tank). Should the new one is needed, whether it is possible to install one successfully. 0. Ensure that there is a town”(electricity) water supply. 0. Having a copy of the ‘cadastre’ (land registry) plan for reference. 0. Check that the roof is in good condition, the ridge is straight and the wooden roof (charpente it) is sound. 0. Always ensure that no major repairs needed to clear the house, but who were told was ‘only minor’ – structural repairs such as expensive in France, anywhere. 0. If in doubt – instructing a skill – a French surveyor, who can advise you about the condition of your prospective home and how much it costs to put right. See the section on survey in France. 0. Seek local advice. Much information can be obtained from the ‘local people’. Local Merchants If there is some work to be done, no matter how much or how little, if you use a builder than about one’s business, trying to use local vendors if possible and always make sure that you use are benar builder registered in France. Any competent architect or builder can see the damage in buildings and warn you. More important, they often can imagine the best way to restructure a building when all you see is devastation. Make sure that if you require the services of architects and / or supervisors that they are registered. You have no legal recourse in France if you use someone who is not declared or work clandestinely. In France all traders must have a SIRET NO and you can verify the registration traders using sirens code MINITEL 3617. Developing plans and written specifications for work to be done by the builder and get estimates / quotation before starting work. Always ask for the following: 0. The Siret number. This is issued by the Chamber of Commerce and signifies TVA (VAT) registration. 0. Decenel Insurance. This is the type of bond insurance, which gives clients a builder, guaranteed workmanship up to 10 years depending on the work performed. 0. Responsabilité Civile. This is the third-party insurance provides cover in case of builder’s intent to cause damage to the house during renovation work. Building Work It is important to keep every single receipt for building work carried out on properties so that these costs can be set against the perceived gains”on the resale property for Capital Gains Tax French. All receipts of materials and labor must also be kept to prove that TVA has paid for building work. If you are having work done on the property, it is important that you should arrange to have something called Dommage et Ouvrage Assurance. This is in addition to buildings insurance and covers you against the builder or one of his men had an accident on your property. This will also help you to claim against bad workmanship. Always get a devis (estimate) for each job that you intend to do for your property. It should be sufficiently detailed, show schedules and prices on various items of work TVA. You may need professional help in preparing the schedules that must be associated with a ‘survey’ you have to do when you buy a home. If you receive this devis then you should sign the second copy with a builder who later became a fixed price contract if the work started within three months. Do not forget, some changes to the house will require planning permission. Respecting local traditions. If you paint your house pink when everyone else around you are white then there would be trouble! Lastly, make regular visits (if you do not ‘camping out’ on the property!) To ensure that the building will be a plan. Your architect or Maitre d’oeuvre must be present to explain the progress. At that point insisted on a clause in the purchase vente de compromis which states that the purchase is subject managed to get all the necessary permis de construire and certificate d’urbanism for the changes proposed for each facade and usage. Benefit and satisfaction of renovating the property is that you are finished with a nice house you because the idea and design has gone into it. Not cost more than you can afford because you have controlled spending. If you do not specify more than i. e. do not go for the gold-plated taps and William Morris wallpaper (unless you want to, of course) – you’ll be finished with the property with a higher resale value than the money that will be incorporated into the project. The main drawback is that the work to your home may require several months to complete and you have to patiently wait until you can use it. You also have to do quite a lot of time and attention of the whole project. This is for you to decide.
